Portable Bidets for Flights, Camping and the Weeks After Birth
The TSA rule, a rinse after birth and how far a liter of water goes at camp.

Through airport security
These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item.
The carry-on rule is about liquid, not about bottles. Every Redsack bidet holds more than the limit, so it flies empty and gets filled at a tap past the checkpoint.
Dry the nozzle and leave the cap open for a minute before you pack it. A wet bottle in a sealed bag starts to smell by the second day.
| Bidet | Capacity | Over 100 ml | Through security |
|---|---|---|---|
| Redsack Squeeze Bidet | 380 ml | Yes | Empty |
| Redsack Flip-Top Bidet | 400 ml | Yes | Empty |
| Redsack Electric Bidet | 200 ml | Yes | Empty |
After a birth
Use a squirt bottle to spray warm water over the perineum as you urinate.
Paper is rough on stitches and sore skin. A rinse with warm water is the usual advice for the first weeks.
A bidet with an angled sprayer reaches where a straight bottle does not. Our Squeeze Bidet extends and turns its nozzle, and the Flip-Top has the softest bottle for a tired hand. Use warm water, never hot.
On the trail
At a campsite water is carried, so it counts. One liter fills a manual bidet about two and a half times. Rinse well away from streams, and pack out any paper you use.
| Bidet | Capacity | Fills per liter | Power |
|---|---|---|---|
| Redsack Squeeze Bidet | 380 ml | 2.6 | Hand squeeze |
| Redsack Flip-Top Bidet | 400 ml | 2.5 | Hand squeeze |
| Redsack Electric Bidet | 200 ml | 5 | USB-C rechargeable |
Squeeze or electric
A squeeze bottle has nothing to charge and nothing to break. It is the one to leave in a glove box for a year.
The electric model keeps the jet steady when your hand cannot. It suits daily use at home and anyone with arthritis, as long as a USB-C charger is near.
